Workflow steps
Step 1: Ingest voyage documentation
The Workflow begins when voyage documents are submitted—bills of lading, cargo manifests, insurance certificates, and shipping schedules. These can be uploaded manually or triggered automatically when new files arrive in a connected folder.
Step 2: Extract and structure key details
Cassidy parses the uploaded documents to pull out critical data points: vessel name, IMO number, cargo type and value, voyage route, port calls, and coverage dates. This structured information feeds every downstream step.
Step 3: Validate compliance against underwriting criteria
The Workflow checks the extracted details against your underwriting guidelines stored in the Knowledge Base—flagging issues like restricted trade routes, prohibited cargo types, or missing certifications that fall outside acceptable risk parameters.
Step 4: Research vessel and client history
Cassidy searches internal files for prior claims, loss history, and account notes on the client. It also pulls vessel data from maritime registries to verify classification status, inspection records, and any flags or detentions.
Step 5: Generate risk assessment report
Using all gathered information, the Workflow produces a comprehensive underwriting report—complete with risk ratings, compliance status, source-linked citations, and clear recommendations for coverage terms or declination.
Step 6: Route for underwriter review
